Part two: stop shoving your LGBTQ stuff in my face. Again, I am not anti homosexual, and I do not hate anyone based on their gender or identity. I simply want to be left alone. Live and let die. My last rant brought out the absolute monsters here on Reddit that I think I will post again. Why?. This list contains the perfect answers to give a conservative when they say “stop shoving the gay agenda down our throats.” I had a gay co-worker who once said, “well they can always just close their mouths.”.
Below are some common myths about LGBTQ+ people or the so-called "gay agenda." Myth 1: LGBTQ+ people are anti-religion. Many LGBTQ+ people who critique organized religion are concerned with. So, what the hell is the gay agenda? Homophobia is rooted in the dehumanisation of gay people. For starters, homophobes argue that being gay is abnormal.
Unnatural. People are supposed to be. I have nothing against the conversation that took place (other than a few mysoginistic statements I did my best to counter), and they are free to have it. It just struck me that if LGBTQ people start talking like that we would be suddenly “shoving it down people’s throats”.
This bill is halfbaked and has more holes than swiss cheese. I am angry that this legislaure and this governor is obsessed with trying to make unnecessary laws focused on attacking transgender rights. For decades and decades people of color, along with 'white' people, have campaigned for equal opportunity and equal access, to greater or lesser success. I came here today from northwest Iowa to discuss HFa bill that would segregated transgender Iowans.
Sandy Wilson [Citizen Engagement]. This bill serves no purpose but to perpetuate falsehoods, create and depend divisions in the state, and cause harm. This bill should be opposed. When I moved back to Iowa in 25 years after moving away, it was with the reassurance that my home state had been a reasonable state that took into consideration peoples rights and liberties, and thought to treat people with respect.
Scoring points with trolls online is not what these politicians were elected to do. Pride Month had become an increasing opportunity for brands to signal their social awareness, whether through genuine commitment, to show solidarity with staff and customers or for the benefit of big investment firms demanding respect for environmental, social, and governance criteria.
It causes them and it is motivated by hate, prejudice, and ignorance. I am Iowan. We need to protect the religious rights of everyone, even those we disagree with, because this ensures that we are also protecting our own rights. Kayla Bell-Consolver [One Iowa]. We absolutely cannot do that if our actions actively push people away. Thats like trying to win a football game by continually handing the ball off to the defensive line.
They are actually a strength, as frustrating and as scary as they can be. Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes and clever in their own sight. Some of you may know what that fight looks like. Trans people have existed for centuries, even in Iowa. While I myself am cis, a portion of my closest friends identify as trans, and I feel perfectly safe with them to be as I am. Trans rights are human rights.
Straight pride is every day. Dodgers ace pitcher Clayton Kershaw told the LA Times that the faux nuns were "making fun of other people's religions," and Washington Nationals pitcher Trevor Williams told a Catholic TV network that the Dodgers were violating their own code of conduct by doing so. Gordie Felger [Freelance]. It is intimated that the State can attempt to verify the sex change, and I wonder how it intends to do so.
Why would a parent want their child to have increased obstacles and challenges in their life? Rachel E.
